Chateau Pichon-Longueville Baron Les Tourelles de Longueville, Pauillac, France 2018
The 2018 Les Tourelles de Longueville is blended of 66% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc and 6% Petit Verdot, to be aged 18 months in barriques, 40% new and 60% one year old. Production represents 30% of the harvest this year. Very deep purple-black colored, it gives up bold notions of crushed blackberries, Morello cherries, warm plums and Christmas cake with hints of cracked pepper, cigar box and bay leaves. Full-bodied, the palate delivers mouth-filling, juicy black fruits and plenty of spicy accents with a firm, velvety frame and a long, earthy finish.
