This is a new red, made from merlot, sangiovese and petit verdot, offering plenty of depth and sophistication, with violets, lead pencil and crushed stones and undertones of balsamic and mint. Full-bodied with ultra-fine tannins that are polished and cashmere-like. Extremely long and tight with wonderful presence. A selection from the best vineyards of the estate. About 1,000 bottles made. Needs two or three years of bottle age, but classic stuff. Try after 2025.
