Dos Puentes 'Gran Summit' Cabernet Franc Uco Valley, 2018 Argentina
This cabernet franc comes from a block grafted onto merlot in 2008 in the Bridges family's Los Sauces Vineyard. It was aged for 18 months in barrels, and that effect is evident in the notes of sweet spices, but most of all it shows the varietal character, the herbal, almost menthol, notes in a cold zone within Uco. The texture is nervy and built from very firm, tense tannins with a lot of sharpness. A franc from calcareous soils that usually give this type of texture, ideal for charcuterie."
