Domaine Zind-Humbrecht Pinot Gris Clos Jebsal Vendange Tardive, Alsace, France 2021
Bright pale yellow colour. The nose is quite intense with strong smoky, flinty characters. This wine will definitely need some time and aeration. If the bottle is open now, decanting is therefore highly recommended ! The palate is bright, intense and broad, finishing very dry, almost lean and strict, showing great acidity. The high clay content in the soil from that vineyard bring an intensity and weight to the wine which is characteristic to the Jebsal. This is probably the 2021 Pinot-Gris on the domaine that will require the most time, but just like the sweeter version of the past have proven, the wait is rewarding !
