Chateau Haut-Bailly, Pessac-Leognan, France 2012
Medium-intensity ruby, youthful shine. The nose is deep, noble, and delicately spicy, with blackberries, coffee, a hint of chocolate, and floral aromas, showing excellent complexity. On the palate, it begins firm, once again pure precision. Alongside the dark fruits, there are red berries and a touch of chocolate. The wine has a medium body, the finest tannins, and perfectly balanced acidity. It is fresh and highly elegant, approachable now, and will improve with age, drinkable now through 2035.
