Chateau Gruaud-Larose, Saint-Julien, France 2019
The robe is a beautiful brilliant purple, almost black, with limpid reflections. On the nose, notes of liquorice, spices, undergrowth and truffle are present. Black fruits come next. On the palate, it is still fine, but with a power that increases with the years. The tannins are round and smooth. A certain freshness emerges on the finish, lightening the whole. As a wine pairing, it will go perfectly with a rack of lamb, simmered meat or a strong cheese.
