The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Mon Chevalier is one of the more open-knit wines made here, especially in the context of the surrounding vintages. The 2012 also shows a bit more of a red-toned fruit profile than other vintages. Red cherry, red plum, white pepper, gravel and cured meats lend notable aromatic complexity throughout. The 2012 is a bit slender but nicely done, just the same. It is the most accessible of the four Morlet 2012s I tasted for this report and also a pretty delicate wine within the context of Knights Valley.
